چکیده English

Introduction : Today, the significant turnover of artworks is one of the important issues in the art economy, both in terms of the artist's livelihood and in terms of the investment of artworks, one of the important issues in the socio-cultural and economic sectors of each country. In Iran, art has always been considered a reliable channel for artists' livelihood, hence traditional models of art turnover, such as auctions, have become popular. This study, by critically examining the Tehran auction, examines this event as a valid implementation model over the past decade.
Purposes & Questions: The aim of this study is to find an effective connection between the visual components of the works' narrative and success in the sales process. Since it was not possible to examine all the works sold at the Tehran Auction, and also to bypass the important variable of the artists' seniority in the auction, young artists born in the sixties were selected in this study because among those born in different decades present at the Tehran Auction, it can be said that those born in the sixties are currently the last young generation who have been continuously present in different periods of the Tehran Auction. It is worth noting that this number of artists mentioned, given their work history, have also been present at other international auctions and art fairs in other countries, so their art market in terms of the financial valuation of their works has almost stabilized, and some of their works have even been published in several books on the history of contemporary Iranian art , For example, in a book titled “Different Sames” published in London ,Uk in 2009 and the book titled Contemporary Iraninan Art(New perspectives) by Hamid Keshmirshekan in 2013 , and the book titled Contemporary Iraninan Art (Roots and new perspectives , by Hamid Keshmirshekan in 2015 .
Also, considering the number of artists present in each auction period, for example, in the 20th Tehran Auction, 111 artists participated, of which only 9 were young artists born in the 1960s. Considering their minimal but continuous presence in finding their way to the Tehran Auction, it can be pointed out that they play a role in contemporary Iranian art, which is why they have been studied here. Therefore, considering that this generation has not been fully addressed in the current art community and has only been mentioned sporadically and sometimes only a small number of them in places, from this perspective, they will be examined in the form of their presence in the Tehran Auction, and their works will also be studied from the perspective of structure and narrative, which apparently is in line with the narrative taste of the audience.
The main questions of the research are: 1. Among the works sold in the last three Tehran Auction periods in the section titled Modern and Contemporary Iranian Art, what works by artists born in the 1960s have been sold? 2- According to Goodman's theory of narratology, how are the visual components of the works of artists born in the sixties categorized at the Tehran auction and what effect do they have on attracting buyers?
Methods : The research method is descriptive-analytical and the data collection method is library-documentary, and Nelson Goodman's structuralist narratology theory has been used in data analysis.
Findings & Results : The results of the research showed that in the last three auction periods in Tehran , regardless of the medium of their works, only 25 works by 19 artists born in the 1980s were included, and all of the works were sold at the predicted prices .
And also The results of the research showed that by classifying the works into different models of Goodman's narrative analysis, namely "immediate timeless narrative", "linear temporal narrative", "warped temporal narrative", "atemporal narrative"; that is, examining the images from the point of view of content and the method of drawing the subjects presented by the artist, as well as examining the different periods of the artist's presence at the Tehran auction, and among the 19 selected artists studied, the works of 14 artists can be classified under one of the Goodman narrative analysis models, which is also included in the final table. Therefore, works that have narrative-oriented visual components in terms of visual and content structure have also played an important and influential role in the sale of these artists' works.
On the other hand, even the Tehran auction managers have paid more attention to works of this generation in selecting them for each auction period, and have ultimately selected works in which the narrative element has played a significant role in the works,. All the reviews of the article and even the tables point to this .
