In consequence of development of political, economical and
cultural relationship between European country and Iran in the
last centuries,many painters have traveled to Iran. They painted
the subjects which were in relation with culture, architecture,
customs and nature of Iran.The record of presentation of painter
traveler goes to safavid period .The antecedent of painters and their purpose of
traveling, their styles and goals and being professional and unprofessional, are
very different. many of them painted their observations for the Europeans and
most of the images painted in black and white and illustrated the diaries but
we could see some valuable and artistic images among them and even some
painters attracted to the Iranian court and left their works for the governors
and palaces. This research explains how was the presentation of European
painter in Iran in safavid period and introduce the painters in order of history
with criticize their painting and compare some artworks with each other, the
quantity and quality of them has been pointed.
