Artist like other people deals with all of levels cognition,
nicluding cognition of sensory, imaginary and intellectual
but artist for this reason that is an artist, deals with
cognition of imaginary (in artistic creation). Imagination
is a subject of both epistemological and ontological
discussions. This article looks at it from both points
of view, however.Infact, article deals with difference
between imagination from aspect of epistemology and
ontology in Islamic wisdom that are named under two
difference title, first imagination of joined and second imagination of separate,
these are key to understanding artistry and creation of art work.
The other part of this article treats criticism and distinction of between time
of joined and time of separate, that can be a guide in interpretation of many of
spiritual truths. This article also deals with points of view of Sheikh-e- Eshraq,
Ibn Arabi and Mowlana about imagination and these points of view are discussed
from aspect of thematic. In the end of article, we can see influence of imagiation
discussions in criticism and distinction of sacred art from mundane art.
