Abstract
Scrutinizing the method of designing and utilizing
decorative patterns in patterned potteries in Ilkhanid
period Patterned potteries, the second canvas of art
in different periods of human’s life, have been a
constant kingdom which have been present from
past until now. Patternes as the basic decorative
elements of potteries have conveyed concepts such
as, faiths, beliefs, ideas, intentions and wishes of
man during this kingdom. They have expressed
disciplines, techniques and artistic skills, especially in drawing in each period of
this kingdom. This article studies and scrutinizes patterned potteries in Ilkhanid
period regarding the kind of their decorative patterns, the method of designing
them and the way they are utilized in potteries. Scrutinizing this subject matter
is done in order to discover and make known Iranian drawers’ and artists’ power
of thinking and the ground they established for next evolutions in drawing and
also it helps to know the expression of images and esthetic culture of patterns in
traditional arts.
