Recognizing and Reading the Vvisual Ccomponents of Qalamdan Kiani in the Period of Naser din Shah and Its Artist

Abstract

Apart from historical aspects, works of art are one of the manifestations of art in the history of Iranian painting and calligraphy. These calligraphic works have beautiful and delicate motifs and have conceptual and symbolic features of their period. In this research, he studies the penmanship and penmanship of Kiani by an artist named Seyyed Mohammad. This exquisite and rare wallet shows Naser al-Din Shah on the throne of Kayani in the central image, in front of which the images of ancient and legendary Iranian kings are depicted in the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi, Kikavus and Kikhusro. Along with the images of Ferdowsi's poems, related images are used. The purpose of this research is to understand the introduction of Kayani's pencil case, to study the images and the connection between the images of Iranian mythological literature, the image of the painter himself in the pencil case. The question of this research, what are the pictures of Qalmadan Kiani in terms of structural, technical and content features? In which part of the images is the artist's image used as a part of the intentional collection? The research method in this research is descriptive and analytical, using library sources and examining a museum sample of Nafis Kiani's portfolio. The method of analyzing Qalamdan is based on the visual principles and rules used in the appearance of Kiani's Qalamdan and its connection with royal literature. The results of this research show that Qajar king Naser al-Din's Qajar kalamdan is depicted on the same stone as the mythical Iranian kings in the Shahnameh, and the kalamdan has various plans. This pen is very diverse from the point of view of carvings and decorations, and from the point of view of iconography, it is very diverse and has benefited from the innovations of the artist, Seyyed Mohammad, the artist of pen pen, has also placed himself among the pictures.
